Best of Days

I always enjoy the Christmas holidays and my extended family when they visit or we visit them, but I like the week after Christmas each year even more. That is the time when Beth and I get to spend time with the kids just as a central family unit. I always save vacation time during the year so I can take a couple of weeks off with the family. When the kids were younger they were the at the age it was ok to be with Mom and Dad. Now Paige is in college and Drew is in high school and we only get glimpse of them as they are on their way in and out to be with friends. Such is life, but it is still great to have them and their friends coming and going. Sometimes I can't believe that I have kids their age.

I must say I am proud of my kids, so far they have done well in life. I wonder where life will lead them. It will be fun to watch.
